The most common symptoms of back pain are severe pain, stiffness, numbness and pain that moves from the back to the legs or buttocks. The pain gets worse when you cough, sneeze, twist or sit for long periods of time. It can even result in inability to stand straight. If back pain includes loss of bladder control, loss of feeling in the legs or arms or a high fever, the cause may be an infection in the spine. In this case, seek medical attention IMMEDIATELY.
