Plague also known as the Black Death is an infectious disease caused by bacteria mainly found in rodents(rats) and fleas that feed on rats. It used to be common in the 1800s to 1900s. Humans contract the bacteria from rodent or flea bites. Control of plague includes pest control of rats and fleas. Plague is divided in 3 main types bubonic, septicemic and pneumonic, depending on the body part involved and symptoms vary depending on the type of plague.
