Septicemic plague occurs when plague bacteria multiply in the bloodstream and its caught through a flea or rodent bite or when one has had any untreated type of plague. Symptoms include:fever and chills, abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting, bleeding from the mouth, nose or rectum or under the skin, shock, and death of tissue-most commonly the fingers, toes and nose.
