Heartburn during pregnancy may be prevented by making small changes in your lifestyle. Avoid drinking caffeine and carbonated drinks, avoid acidic, spicy and fatty foods, include dairy products like milk and yoghurt in your diet, try to eat at least 2 hours before going to sleep and avoid wearing clothes or belts that are too tight or pinch at the waist. If none of these steps work, seek care and treatment from the nearest health unit.
