You may prevent heartburn by making changes in your lifestyle. If you are overweight, lose weight and stay healthy with regular exercise. Avoid drinking coffee and alcohol and eating acidic, spicy and fatty foods, include dairy products like milk and yoghurt in your diet and try to eat at least 2 hours before going to sleep.
