All skin bleaching products contain either hydroquinone or mercury. Hydroquinone lightens the colour of the skin areas to which it is applied by killing off the melanin-making cells. Mercury-based bleaching creams contain ammoniated mercury, a bleaching agent that is harmful to health causing mercury poisoning. Avoid all skin bleaching creams or ointments for your health.
