Treatment of myocarditis is aimed at preventing complications e. g. heart failure and arrhythmias. Myocarditis caused by immunologic diseases is managed by use of drugs that reduce inflammation (corticisteroids). Treatment also involves monitoring of the heart rhythm to detect and treat any abnormalities.
