Bacterial skin infections can occur with eczema. This is common in infants and young children. Cataracts has been proven to be more common in individuals with eczema. Your child may develop eczema herpeticum, a severe form of the herpes simplex virus infection and may require hospitalization. Your child may also develop an allergy to certain foods, esp proteins.
