The main risk factors for developing entropion are infections of the eye, esp of the membranes lining the eyelids, injury to the eyelids resulting from trauma and contraction of the eyelids from unknown causes. Chemical burns on the eye and conditions of abnormal eyelids present from birth are other causes.
