When you have nephrotic syndrome, you retain excess fluid in the body due to loss of proteins in blood leading to edema(swelling) around the eyes(facial edema), in the arms, legs(esp the feet and ankles) or in the belly area(swollen abdomen).You may also have other symptoms, eg 'foamy' urine, weight gain from fluid retention, poor appetite and high blood pressure.
