Pemphigus refers to a group of autoimmune, potentially fatal, blistering conditions. Bullous pemphigoid is the more common and less severe type of these conditions. The condition has blistering of the skin, often with no prior injury to the area. These large blisters spread over the body. It mainly infects people over the age of 60 and is commoner in females than males.
