The treatment of secondary hypertension is aimed at reducing blood pressure and treating the cause. The drugs used to treat hypertension include water drugs (diuretics), drugs to help reduce the heart rate and drugs that help dilate arteries. These may be used alone or in combinations. Medication is also used to treat the cause of secondary hypertension.
