Normal vocal folds move very fast to change air pressure when you speak-a vocal cord nodule slows them down and so makes speaking difficult. Symptoms: your voice becomes hoarse, speaking is painful and there are frequent breaks in your speech. Vocal fold nodules occur mostly in adult females and children of both sexes.
