You are likely to experience breathing difficulties with shortness of breath and gasping for air even after slight activity. You may also notice that 1 side of your chest is not moving with respiration. It is unlikely that it will be both sides as this is a serious degree of the condition that you can only survive when on mechanical ventilation.
