Treatment options for you if you don't have AIDS but do have a weakened immune-system are not yet well studied. However, drugs like Amphotericin B combined with oral flucytosine may be effective. Every attempt should be made to reduce the amount of drugs that can cause immune suppression until the infection is resolved. If you have AIDS, you may have a reduced response to Amphotericin B and flucytosine, therefore after initial treatment with the 2, your doctor may introduce oral fluconazole.
