In the early stages of cirrhosis there may not be any symptoms. However, as your liver finds it more difficult to perform, your symptoms may include:a yellowing of the skin and/or the whites of your eyes(jaundice), spider-like blood vessels visible on your skin, easily bruising and bleeding, vomiting blood or blood in your faeces(which may be black and tarry)-due to bleeding in your stomach or oesophagus, swelling in the tummy and legs due to a build-up of fluid, losing weight or muscle, confusion or poor memory, itchy skin-due to a build-up of toxins, fever from infection-cirrhosis makes certain infections more likely, reddening of the skin on the palms of your hands and problems with your nails. If you have these symptoms or if you're vomiting blood have black stools or develop a fever see your doctor.
