Treatment of Paget's disease aims to reduce pain and limit the changes which can occur to the bones. Bisphosphonates may be given. These slow the rate at which the bone matrix forms and breaks down reducing the rate of turnover, preventing the bone from changing and regulating bone structure. They also reduce bone pain and promote healing.
