HIV-related cancer occurring as Burkitt's lymphoma is one of the types of Burkitt's cancer due to weakened immune system. This type is commoner in adults with HIV and shares similarity with the type in children found in areas with high malaria disease and especially associated with Epstein-Barr virus. Tissue or organ transplant is believed to also increase the risk of this cancer. Burkitt's lymphoma is estimated to be 1, 000 times more common in HIV positive individuals than in the general population.
