"Symptoms of diverticulitis:constant and often severe abdominal pain starting below the belly button and moving to the lower left hand side (though on the right for Asian people due to genetic differences); fever; frequent need to urinate and sometimes pain; changes in bowel habit or nausea and vomiting. The pain and disturbed bowel function may go away and come back again from time to time.
The abdominal pain is usually on the lower left hand side. The pain may appear after eating and go after you have released wind or been to the toilet. Other symptoms: bloating, wind, constipation or diarrhoea.".
