Liver damage from cirrhosis can't be reversed but you can stop more damage. The best way is to stop drinking alcohol. If you can't stop drinking, there are a number of ways that your doctor can help you. S/he can give you treatments that help to relieve any symptoms of cirrhosis you have. Eg, you may be given a beta-blocker medicine for portal hypertension or diuretics for tummy swelling.
