People infected with polio may not feel ill but can have fever, sore throat, diarrhea, headache, stomach ache. Early treatment is important. Sometimes there may be pain or stiffness in the neck, back and legs. In cases of paralysis from polio it develops quickly and affects the whole body within hours of fever.
