Malaria in pregnancy - Treatment

The treatment for malaria depends on how severe it is and when it occured during pregnancy. When the infection is uncomplicated you can be given tablets to take at home. If the infection is severe, you will require to be admitted to hospital for treatment of malaria or any complications that may have developed. It is important to remember that the foetus may be affected even during treatment and to continue monitoring the baby.
