Reducing the temperature of the environment can help make your feverish child more comfortable. You can reduce a room's temperature by opening windows and doors but make sure it's not too windy. You may also use a fan if one is available and make sure the fan is directed away from the child as the cold air can induce shivering and a resultant rise in temperature.
