Testosterone is a male sex hormone made by the testicles. It plays a role in health, well-being and sexual function like penis erections and sexual desire. During puberty it causes body changes in males such as voice changes, body and penis growth, facial and chest hair. Women also have testosterone in their bodies but in much smaller quantities.
