Chlamydia is called the 'silent disease' because it usually has no noticeable symptoms. The only way to know if you have it is to get tests at a health centre. If there are symptoms they can be-WOMEN:pain urinating, change in vaginal discharge, abdominal pain, pain during sex, bleeding between periods. MEN:penis discharge, pain in tip of penis, pain in the urethra (tube which carries urine and semen through penis), pain in tube leading from penis to testicles, swollen testicles. Chlamydia has similar signs to other infections-go to a health centre for an accurate diagnosis to make sure you get correct treatment and avoid long-term damage such as infertility.
