Like all medicines some family planning methods can have side effects. However, many women have no or few side effects. Some side effects can be headaches, bleeding between periods or unusual vaginal bleeding, missed periods, amenorrhoea (having no periods), feeling sick and stomach pain. Usually side effects go away. If you are worried go to a clinic or change the method you are using-there are many different options to choose from!
