A snake bite can be deadly to a human if not treated quickly. Once bitten, a person should avoid walking or moving to slow down the spread of any venom or poison in the body. Rush to the nearest health unit IMMEDIATELY for treatment. Children, with their smaller bodies, are more likely to die or fall ill from snake bites. Try to identify the type of snake that has bitten so that health workers can treat the bite properly. Only poisonous snake bites require antivenom treatment.
