A sleeping disorder is when normal sleep patterns are disturbed. The most common are insomnia and sleep apnea. Some sleep disorders are serious and interfere with normal physical, mental and emotional functioning. Most sleep disorders can be managed with rest or taking care of the underlying issues. If there is no improvement, seek care from a psychiatrist. Do not self-medicate-most disorders are treatable.
