Herpes Zoster is a contagious viral disease that is easily transmitted. When the disease is active, a person gets a skin rash with blisters and sores. Direct contact with the rash, blisters or sores can spread the virus to another person. Herpes Zoster infections have increased in incidence as a result of HIV /AIDS pandemic. To help prevent its spread, someone suffering from an outbreak of Herpes Zoster must maintain good personal hygiene. If you think you have Herpes Zoster, seek diagnosis and treatment from the nearest clinic or trained health worker IMMEDIATELY.
