Whipworm is a roundworm that infects the human large intestine. When an infected person defecates outside, eggs in the faeces become larvae that live in soil and enter the body when a person gets them on their hands and transfers them to the mouth. Whipworms may cause diarrhoea and in children may cause part of the intestines to come out of the anus. To prevent whipworm, deworm often, use latrines and ALWAYS wash hands before eating or handling food.
