Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a disorder related to sensation and movement. A person with RLS has an unpleasant feeling in their legs when they lie down to sleep. Most have a strong urge to move their legs, but the movement makes it hard to get enough sleep. People who have RLS describe it as creeping, crawling, pulling, itching, tingling, burning, aching, or shocking. Sometimes, the feelings also occur in the arms.
