Adolescence (also called puberty) is the stage of life when a child starts becoming an adult. Hormones (natural chemicals made by the body) cause the body to change. You cannot decide when this happens-most people experience such changes in their teenage years but some develop early/late. Boys can get voice deepening, wet dreams and facial hair. Girls start having periods, breasts and hips get bigger. Girls and boys may get pubic and underarm hair, sexual feelings and mood swings. Increased desire for sex is not a sign that you need to have sex-wait until you are in a trusting relationship and feel ready.
