Opportunistic infections are especially common among people living with HIV because HIV destroys the body's immune system. The most common infections are TB, malaria, pneumonia, diarrhoea, neck swelling, kaposis sarchoma, herpes simplex, herpes zoster and skin infections. These diseases can also affect people without HIV, but occur more often and can take longer to cure for a person with HIV. If you are HIV positive, taking septrin daily can help prevent some opportunistic infections. Seek diagnosis and treatment from the nearest clinic or trained health worker IMMEDIATELY at the onset of an infection.
