Thrush is diagnosed in women if they have itching in and around the vagina with a whitish substance inside. It is caused by candida germs and can be transmitted through sex. All women naturally have candida in the vagina. But candida can grow fast and cause symptoms in women with weak immune systems. Treatment is with vaginal anti-fungal creams or bullet-tablets.
