When aroused, a female's vagina produces discharge-a natural lubricant. Dry sex happens when discharge is not produced. Causes can be: a) The lady is not aroused/has not had foreplay to make her ready for sex. b) There is less discharge on some days of the menstrual cycle. c) Some family planning methods can cause dryness. d) Some infections (e. g. candida) can cause dryness. Dry sex can be painful. To prevent it wait till your mind is ready for sex, have more foreplay, test for infection or use special lubricant that is safe for the vagina and can be used with condoms.
