The IUD/coil does not cause infection but DOES NOT protect from Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS. Pain and bleeding straight after the IUD is fitted are NOT normal-go to a clinic immediately. Itching/wounds in private parts may be due to an STI-visit a clinic for treatment. The IUD/coil does not cause wounds or ulcers as it gets soft in the body. If it feels uncomfortable go to a clinic. The IUD does not affect weight and is fine for fat women.
