The ovaries are 2 small, oval-shaped organs found in the abdomen and are part of the female reproductive system. Cancer of the ovaries, known as Ovarian cancer, is an abnormal growth of cells in the tissue covering the ovaries. If left untreated, Ovarian cancer can spread to other areas and cause infertility. Possible signs of Ovarian cancer include pain or swelling in the abdomen, pain in the pelvis and gastrointestinal problems like gas, bloating and constipation. Early ovarian cancer may not cause any symptoms, so when symptoms appear the cancer is often advanced. Because these symptoms may be caused by other conditions, seek early medical diagnosis and treatment as soon as you see them.
