Retinoblastoma is a cancer that leads to abnormal growth of cells of the retina of the eye. It is a cancer that usually develops in early childhood. Signs include; abnormal appearance of the pupil, deterioration of vision, redness and irritation of the eyes and appearance of the pupil(white/reddish reflection especially at night) and cross eyes. Retinoblastoma usually causes blindness in just one eye, but it can spread to the other eye and other parts of the body if not treated. Retinoblastoma can be treated if detected early, so visit the nearest health centre for diagnosis and care IMMEDIATELY if you or your child presents these symptoms. Cancer kills-early treatment can save your life!
