Signs of Whooping Cough (pertussis) in the first stage are similar to a cold-runny nose, watery eyes sneezing and mild cough. At the second stage there are many bursts of quick coughing followed by a 'whoop' sound as the child takes in air. Vomiting and exhaustion can follow coughing attacks. The child may turn blue because of lack of oxygen during a long period of coughing. Visit a clinic IMMEDIATELY for correct diagnosis and treatment-early treatment is more effective.
