Sterility, also known as infertility, is when someone is unable to produce a child and affects both men and women. Some people are born infertile, while others become infertile from STIs. As women grow older, their chances of producing a child decrease until they stop having periods, usually between the age of 45-50. If a man is fertile, he can continue producing sperm and thereby still make a woman pregnant even at an old age. If in doubt about your fertility, seek medical attention.
