Hemophilia is a rare blood disorder where a person's blood does not clot normally. It runs in families and is mostly seen in males. Blood clotting factors are given to people with hemophilia to help stop bleeding after a cut or injury. There are 2 main types of hemophilia. Hemophilia A is caused by a lack of active clotting factor VIII(8) and Hemophilia B is caused by a lack of active clotting factor IX(9).
