Treatment depends on the type of stomach cancer and how far it has spread. There are 3 main treatments for stomach cancer. Surgery (including the use of lasers) removes just the affected tissue. Surgery is sometimes followed by chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment to make sure all the cancer cells are destroyed. Non-surgical treatment include chemotherapy (anti-cancer drugs used to destroy cancer cells-usually injected but sometimes tablets) or radiotherapy (radiation used to kill cancer cells).
