Treatment depends on the type of mouth cancer, where it is and how far it has spread. Your doctor will discuss this with you. There are 3 main treatments:Surgery (incl the use of lasers) removes just the affected tissue. Surgery is sometimes followed by chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment to make sure all the cancer cells are destroyed. Non-surgical treatments include radiotherapy(radiation used to kill cancer cells); Chemotherapy(anti-cancer drugs used to destroy cancer cells, an injection or tablets); Biological therapy (antibodies used to block areas on the surface of cancer cells that can trigger growth).
