To diagnose lung cancer, your doctor will ask you about your symptoms, examine you, may ask about your medical history and do some of the following tests or refer you to a chest doctor for them:a chest X-ray, a CT scan, a bronchoscopy-a hospital test in which a narrow tube with a light and lens on the end will be passed down your windpipe and into your lung. This will allow your doctor to see your lung tissue and maybe to take samples of tissue(biopsy)for testing. These tests can help your doctor to 'stage' the cancer(describe its size, position and whether it's spread beyond where it started in your body). This will help to determine the best treatment for you. Ask your doctor for more information.
