Acute hepatitis B infection is a condition caused by the hepatitis B virus(HBV), sometimes called 'serum hepatitis'. The acute illness is characterized by liver inflammation, with vomiting, jaundice and rarely may cause death. The aggressive type(fulminant) may become suddenly and rapidly intense.
