The causes of bowel cancer aren't fully understood. One of the main factors is age(over 60).Your risk also increases if you have a family history of bowel cancer; a long-term bowel condition, eg Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis; a diet low in fibre, fruit and vegetables and high in red, processed meats; an inactive lifestyle, obesity or diabetes.
