The skin is made up of 3 layers:the epidermis, the dermis(the supporting subcutaneous layer of loose tissue) and fat. Skin cancer is an abnormal and uncontrolled growth of cells in the skin, causing a tumour. Cancer can start from cells in any of these layers.
