Contact with and breathing in the measles-infected droplets is usually followed by a 7-14 day period without symptoms, then fever, cough and redness of the eyes. In the first 2-4 days of symptoms, spots appear in the mouth (Koplik's spots). By the 3rd-5th day rashes appear below the front of the ears and gradually spread to the rest of the body and limbs. It starts improving 3-5 days after the rash. The virus disappears from the nose and throat when the rash disappears.
