Many people with meningitis and septicaemia recover fully and have no after-effects. However, some people experience problems. Some of the main complications from meningitis and septicaemia include learning difficulties-temporary or long-term, memory loss, difficulty concentrating and coordination problems; paralysis or weakness in parts of your body(if permanent it's sometimes called cerebral palsy). You may develop altered senses, lose your sight, have vision problems. You may find that your hearing is affected and you may become deaf. Chronic headaches may develop and skin scarring may occur or loss of limbs as a result of septicaemia. Fits and speech problems are not uncommon.
