If you have very low levels of calcium in your body, you may develop hypocalcaemia. Hypocalcaemia can make the symptoms of osteomalacia much worse and cause fractures. Symptoms include painful cramps, twitching in your body, tingling in your hands and feet or even fits(convulsions). If you have any of these symptoms, you should see your doctor. If you have osteoporosis(when your bones are porous and less dense than healthy bones) and osteomalacia, you are more at risk of fractures.
